In a statement on GoFundMe, the generous Kenyans said they started the initiative as they could not sit and watch their fellow citizens die from hunger.

“In neighborhoods and communities around our country Kenya, hunger is an issue that people including families and children, face everyday. Our most vulnerable populations -children who are out of school, low-income families, the elderly and individuals facing job disruptions face great challenge putting food on the table,” “We have an opportunity to come together to support our parents, brothers, sisters, neighbours and our country Kenya in this critical time of need,” part of their statement read.
